Wai Chung received his B.Sc. (honours) in chemistry from Hong Kong Baptist University and earned his PhD at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (with Professor Fuk Yee Kwong). His graduate studies focused on development of phosphine ligands and palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions. Following a Croucher Postdoctoral Fellowship at MIT (with Professor Timothy F. Jamison), he returned to Hong Kong and became a research assistant professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2020. In July 2023, He was appointed as Assistant Professor of Chemistry at City University of Hong Kong.
